Women with allergies need to be careful about products used in their beauty regimen. Products with fragrances, preservatives and chemicals potentially cause reactions, such as skin rash, sneezing, puffy eyes and headaches. Ingredients That May Cause Allergic Reactions
There are several ingredients in beauty products that can cause allergic reactions, including fragrance and formalyn (formaldehyde), which is used as a preservative. Products with fragrance may contain formalyn as a hidden ingredient. Formaldehyde is often an ingredient in nail care products, used as a hardener in nail polish to help it to last longer.
The Mayo Clinic released a study in 2006 that revealed the most common causes of contact dermatitis, including nickel, gold, balsam of Peru (fragrance), thimerosal, neomycin sulfate, fragrance mix, formaldehyde, cobalt chloride, bacitracin and quaternium 15.
For women with allergies, it is advisable to avoid products that contain ingredients that may cause a reaction.

Nail Care

Tools in a kit may include a cuticle nipper, cuticle pusher, nail file, buffer, manicure stick, nail brush, toenail clipper, facial hair scissors, emery boards, pointed tweezers and slant tweezers. Choose a selection of tools, or a kit, for a lovely gift.
Soap
Women with allergies often use hypoallergenic or dermatologist recommended soap for facial care, hand washing and for bathing. There are a number of suitable brands on the drug store shelves. Some that are dermatologist recommended include Neutrogena, Eucerin, Aveeno and Cetaphil. A nice gift basket can be made with a combination of bar and liquid soap.
Moisturizers
Women need to protect their skin from the drying effect of winter. Facial creams and body moisturizers are a basic part of the beauty routine. Makers of dermatologist recommended lotions and creams are the same as above: Cetaphil, Aveeno, Eucerin and Neutrogena.
Lip Balm
A moisturizing lip balm, preferable with a sunscreen, is important to protect lips year around. Look for a fragrance free lip balm or ointment for the beauty basket.

Fill in the beauty basket with wash cloths, loofah, hand towels and/or sponges as desired.
Wrap the Basket
After the products are in the basket, wrap in cellophane, or in a swath of tulle. Tie the material at the top with a bow and add an ornament or decoration for a festive package. As an alternative, simply wrap the beauty products in tissue and place in a colorful gift bag.
