Canadian Pacific Brings Entertainment and Christmas Spirit

Canadian Pacific Holiday Train is brightly decorated with lights as it travels across the provinces of Canada with the message Christmas spirit and generosity.

The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train will be making its annual run through the provinces of Canada with its message of holiday cheer, bright lights, After making its holiday run from Ontario and Quebec, the brightly decorated train travels to Manitoba and Saskatchewan, bringing with it the message of holiday spirit and the season of giving.

The Canadian Pacific Train in making its tenth annual run through provinces of Canada and northern states of the United States. Two separate trains journey through the countryside with a message of good cheer.

Canadian Pacific's train is a spectacular sight as it travels through the dark of night. The brightly lit engine and cars have been decorated by CP volunteers to contribute to the merriment of the holiday season. The CP holiday train brings the spirit of giving to communities along the way. Volunteers collect donations of non-perishable food and money to benefit local food pantries.

Entertainment on the CP Train

When the train pulls into the station, a boxcar opens and the entertainment begins.

Entertainers on the Canadian CP Train are Tracey Brown, a Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame member; and Johnny Reid, a Canadian Country Music Awards winner.

The Holiday Train Producer is Randall Prescott. The entertainers put on a holiday show at each stop along the route.

The atmosphere at the stops along the way is festive. People gather early and wait to see the brightly decorated red train. At many stops there may be entertainment offered prior to the train's arrival, so early arrival allows time for more fun. Photographers often visit to take advantage of an unusual photo opportunity.

Holiday Train Schedule

Following are the scheduled stops for the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train in Manitoba and Saskatchewan. All times are approximate. The CP website recommends checking the arrival time prior to attending the event. Stops are approximately one half hour long. Plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early.

Saturday, December 6

  • Whitemouth, Manitoba at Railway Avenue 9:00 pm

Sunday, Dacember 7

  • Winnipeg, Manitoba at Molson St. at 2:00 pm
  • Portage La Prairie, Manitoba opposite from Centennial Arena 5:15 pm
  • Brandon, Manitoba across from CP Station 8:15 pm

Monday, December 8

  • Broadview, Saskatchewan at CP Train Station 11:00 pm
  • Indian Head behind the Shell Station 3:15 pm
  • Regina, Saskatchewan at Taylor Field 5:15 pm
  • Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan west of CP Train Station 7:15 pm.

Tuesday, December 9

  • Swift Current east of CP Train Station noon
  • Maple Creek at CP TMS Facility 3:00 pm

Thursday, December 18

  • North Portal in Southern Saskatchewan at the Town Center Noon
  • Estevan east of CPR Station 5:00 pm
  • Weyburn at 7:45 pm
